Members and Guest in Attendance and Call to Order: President Paul Tucich 1st V.P. Clayton Meissner 2nd V.P. Betty Tucich Secretary Tom Jervis Treasurer Fern Oakes Directory Vance Oakes Director Ginger Schaefer I.P.P. Carol Jervis Guest: Lion Dr. Paul Deagenaer LOEB Medical Advisor Lion Al Claros Pantego Lions Club Invocation and Pledge: Lion Clayton gave the invocation. Lion Betty led the pledge. Minutes and Treasurers Reports: Secretary Tom reported e-mailing copies. Also, have hard copies. The e-mail was with a newer version of windows word. Not all directors would have. Director Clayton motioned to accept the minutes as provided. Director Vance seconded the motion. Motion carried. Treasure Fern reported the financial status. Director Vance motioned to accept the financial status. Director Carol seconded the motion. Motion carried. Lion Dr. Paul D. reported that he and Director Tom took an inventory of equipment at Prevent Blindness Adult Eye Clinic. And have submitted the results. Director Ginger motioned to adopt the equipment and take responsibility of said equipment. Director Betty seconded the motion. Motion carried. Equipment at Prevent Blindness Adult Eye Clinic will be added to the assist list of the LOEB. Treasurer Fern notified the board that a need to transfer $8500 in funds to cover current expenses was needed. Reports: Acknowledgements: Director Betty reported no acknowledgements have been sent. White Cane: Director Betty reported no monies collected as yet. Clubs are doing projects. Quad-Dist.: Director Tom reported that next Sunday would be the Thanksgiving of Life at TSC in Dallas. Would be in the Tom & Lula Gouch Aditorium. Diabetic Essay: Director Clayton reported no new activities. Life Memberships: Director Tom asked if anyone has gotten the request for Life Membership from Colleyville Lions Club. No one has. Lion Tom will follow up. Vision Clinics: McKinney Clinic: Lion Dr. Paul reported no actives this moth. Adult Eye Clinic: Director Vance has no report at this time. Mobil Vision Unit: Director Tom reported that 24 people were seen at the Mansfield Clinic. 22 would need glasses. Lion Gerald Couch may be interested in purchasing the MVU auto- refractor. Eyeglass Recycling: Director Fern reported that the Colleyville Lions Club has very active with the recycling center. The center is looking for a portable dish washer to assist with cleaning the glasses. Old Business: Director Tom will be having a meeting with Pastor Tony Torres in reguards to the future clinic in Clebure. Lion Dr. Paul has quotes from Lombart and Armstrong. For equipment for the MVU. Lombart equipment will be new. As for Armstrong the equipment would be used, with some mfg warranties. Director Ginger motioned to go with the Lombart quote. Director Betty seconded the motion. Motion carried. President Paul authorized Lions Dr. Paul and Tom to follow through with the purchase of the equipment. New Business: Lion Dr. Paul reported that Prevent Blindness has a request for a new Tonometer. During the inventory of current equipment at the Adult Eye Clinic. The Tonometer currently in use. Is out dated. It was suggested to replace said equipment with a more up to date and easier to use Tonometer. Director Ginger motioned to acquire a Tono Pen. And ask for donations from clubs off set the purchase. Director Vance seconded the motion. Motion carried. President Paul asked that the Tono-Pen be added to the current purchase list for MVU. Lion Dr. Paul asked if the board wanted to purchases a year access to gotomeeting. The board did not feel that the services would be worth a year commitment. But would go with monthly purchase as needed. Meeting adjourned. |
