Members and Guest in attendance and Call to Order: President Carol Jervis 1st V.P. Paul Tucich 2nd V.P. Clayton Meissner Secretary Tom Jervis Director Betty Tucich Invocation and Pledge: Lion Clayton Meissner gave the invocation. Lion Tom Jervis led the pledge. Minutes and Treasure’s Report: Secretary Lion Tom reported that he had e-mailed the minutes to all board members. Motion to accept the minutes were made by Lion Betty. Motion seconded by Lion Clayton. Motion carried. Treasure Lion Fern was not present. She had passed information onto Lion Tom for presentation. Lion Tom presented the information in the form of a motion. Lion Clayton seconded the motion. Motion carried. Reports: Acknowledgements: Lion Betty reported sending 1 memorial and 1 thank you out. White Cane: Lion Clayton reported that he has tried to order White Cane pins. Having no response from the Michigan Lions. Will continue with Trying to contact them. Lion Clayton will be visiting with the Triangle Lions in Denton. Quad-District: Lion Carol has tried to contact Lion Suzanne Henderson. To set a date for a Quad-Dist. Board meeting. Diabetic Essay: Lion Paul reported that information about the essay contest is being put on the District Web Site. Life Membership: Lion Kaye was not present. She provided information to Lion Tom. Lion Tom e-mailed the information to all directors. At last Board meeting it was motioned to acquire 100 pins with rockers. At the time of the motion a tentative price was made. Due to authorization of making pins for Lions International we have to order thru them. The e-mail sent out had the presentation of the total cost for the pins. Since the board approve the purchase of the pins. This is an update of the final cost. Should anyone have concerns. Then a new motion will be accepted. No new motion was made. So a check will be acquired from Lion Fern and the order placed thru International. Vision Clinics: McKinney: Lion Dr. Paul not present. Lion Carol reported for him. That the clinic in McKinney is picking up. Adult Eye Clinic: Lion Tom reported that he has asked Prevent Blindness for a break down of glasses provided. No response at this time. Mobil Vision Unit: Lion Tom reported that he has been invited to at a FWISD nurse gathering. How the MVU can assist the school districts. No new request has been received to use the MVU. Eyeglass recycling: Lion Clayton reported that he Lion Fern and several other Lions just got back from Midland. They had gotten lots of information, and looking forward to get the recycling center up and running. On their trip they took lots of glasses and some dental equipment. Old Business: Lion Tom reported that he is still working on equipment pricing. Will check with Lion Storza to see if he remembers. Lion Tom reported that he has not had time to consolidate the storage unit. Lion Paul presented a rough draft for LOEB Director 100%. Will table discussion until a later date. New Business: Lion Tom reported for Lion Dr. Paul. That Lion Dr. Paul has been doing some paying for the McKinney Clinic. And has asked that the board takes this responsibility on to remove Dr. Paul from the loop. Lion Carol asked that Lions Tom, Carol, and Fern be a budget committee. And ask for any other volunteers. Lion Carol informed the board that Lion Dr. Paul has a lady answering phone calls for the McKinney Clinic. Lion Dr. Paul pays her $10.00 an hour. With approval of the board this person would do the same for the LOEB. This will give us a phone line that the district could use. She could direct the calls to the appropriate club. This would be similar to what District 2-X1 has in place. Lion Paul motioned to allow up to 2 hours a week. Lion Betty seconded the motion. Motion carried. New Lions Organ and Eye Bank of District 2-E2 phone service number is 972-540-9046. Lion Carol reported that she has had a request from Dallas Association for the Blind. To assist with a Celina lady that needs glaucoma surgery. Lion Paul motion for $225.00 to assist. Lion Clayton seconded the motion. Motion carried. Lion Carol will get with Lion Fern with the contact details. Lion Carol has billing for Dr. Smith. Lion Clayton reported that Lenscrafters saw 283 kids at the CISD. Of them 224 got glasses. Lion Clayton also had a request for a possible new Lion member from the Frisco Lenscrafters. Asked that someone in the area make further contact. Lion Carol made a presentation of the Diabetic Policy. Meeting adjourned. |
